On Tuesday, May 30th, there will be an artist’s reception of the 25th Annual Orange County High School Photography Invitational.  This is a juried exhibition open to students from all Orange County high schools.  It was created by Ellen Butler, when she was the photography instructor at Costa Mesa High School.  For most, if not all of those 25 years, the event has been supported in some manner by The Photo Exchange, either with members serving as jurors, by awarding prizes on behalf of the Exchange, by helping to underwrite entry fees for students for whom the fee might prevent them from entering, and simply by attending the reception to support the students.  The reception is an opportunity to see the talent and creativity of a large number of student artists from close to 20 schools.  More than 40 awards will be presented to recognize outstanding individual images and for projects and bodies of work.

The reception will be held from 5:30 pm to about 8:00 pm at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa in the Arts Center Building on the south side of the campus closest to Merrimac Way.  The awards presentation will begin about 6:30 pm.  At the same, the Newport Mesa School District will be having a multi-media exhibit of student work with a reception that is also open to the public in the Doyle Art Gallery next door to the Arts Center building.  Parking is free in parking lot D, which can be accessed from Merrimac Way.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
