Texas Photographic Society – Juried exhibits

I have recently added another Resource link to this journal for the Texas Photographic Societies Competition page. First, the Texas Photographic Society is a non-profit organization located in Texas (duh), but they have an excellent annual National photographic juried exhit, which is a traveling exhibition.

Second, they have a number of great resouce pages, which you could spend a considerable amount of time crusing through, including the Competition page. This is frequently updated, thus the reason that I have the page linked under Resources on the right.

Currently on the Competition page are these following juried opportunities: (and this is a partial list, my friends…)

Title: The Art in Nature; Eligibility: Open to all, but the date for submital was Sept 16th.

Title: Photography Now 2008; Eligibility: Open to all, submission by Sept 30th, 2008; Center for Photography at Woodstock ís annual Photography Now call for entries where winners will be published in CPW’s magazine.

Title: High and Dry: Peoples and Places of the World’s Dry Lands; Eligibility: Open to all, submission by October 3rd, 2008, The International Cultural Center of Texas Tech University (http://www.iaff.ttu.edu) invites photographers to submit images for their eighth annual juried photo exhibit.

Title: 2008 Urban Legends/Rural Myths, Eligibility: Open to all, submission by October 10, 2008; Purdue University Galleries (West Lafayette, Indiana) invite entries for a national exhibition of contemporary art that inspires NEW myths, imagined histories and tall tales.

Title: Negative Space Exhbition, Eligibility: Open to all, submission by Oct 14, 2008, The Center for Fine Art Photography invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate in its exhibitions. (juried by Brooks Jensen, editor/publisher LensWork)

Plus an additional five more juried opportunities, a total of 10 current juried opportunities to participate in. And more juried opportunities are being added all the time, so you have to keep checking in!
